phising is a tactic used by thieves to get important information from you by imposing themselves as a company you deal with already.

for example, a phisher may send you an e-mail looking like it came from your bank account. this e-mail may ask you to verify your account information. in reality, none of this information is going to where you think, instead it’s being sent to someone that may use this information against you. this is why identity theft is becoming more prominent in the digital age.

be aware, even if an e-mail looks like it has been sent from a business you work with that it’s exceptionally easy to fake where an e-mail has been sent from.

have you ever encountered image too large or experienced images that just seemed way too big? resizing images will reduce their file size {which results in faster downloads}.

resizing images

you will need an image editing application to resize the photo. there are lots of options, photoshop being the most popular but also the most expensive.

picasa is a free option for photo resizing, and is a very solid image management program all around. highly recommended. download below:

picnik is a new option, which does image editing within your web browser.

automatic resizing

some social networking sites allow on the fly resizing of images, such as sqeez. when uploading media, you can select a size in pixels that you want the image saved as.
some digital cameras allow you to set a smaller size within the camera itself. this will also save memory so you can take more photos with the same memory card. refer to your camera’s manual for step by step instructions.

the easiest way to record sounds onto your computer is using a computer microphone. typically, the quality of the sounds recorded will not be very high, but if you’re just recording your voice, it will be acceptable.

another option is to use the line-in on your computer’s soundcard. you’ll need an RCA converter if you are trying to hook up the white and red cables that are very popular on devices that weren’t meant to be used with a computer.

once you’ve got the sound onto your computer, you may need to edit it down - such as change the volume levels, cut out certain bits or do other types of changes.

on windows or mac
use audacity. it’s a free and open source wav {short for waveform} editor that allows you to record the line in {or microphone}. you can also record “what you hear,” which means any sounds generated by your computer will be recorded into your sound file.

you then can edit and transform the sound you have recored and export it as a wav, aiff or mp3 {with the proper lame plugin}.

bit-torrent is a p2p {peer to peer} protocol developed by bram cohen that allows users to use their upload bandwidth to distribute files faster.

typically, files are hosted by one computer. when too many people access one file at one time, the download speed can considerably drop. bit-torrent is designed around the concept that more people downloading one file will speed up everyones transfer.

seeds are users that have the complete file, peers are those still in the process of downloading the file. if no seeds remain, and no one jumps back on the torrent, all the peers that are left over may never complete the download.

.torrent files only include information about the download, not the actual file. so once you have the.torrent file, you’ll then need a client which actually starts the download.

how do i open .torrent files?
you’ll need a bit torrent client.

on mac we recommend transmission. on pc go for utorrent.

where do i find torrents?
google “bit torrent trackers” to find .torrent files.

In online gambling, Free Rolls are free buy-in tables in which you can still take home the prizes. This allows you to check out new online casinos, test the water and see how things play out with zero risk on your end.

Freeroll poker games are more intense and therefore are better practice arenas for newer players. By having the chance to win free money & other perks, players typically try harder and attempt to play more seriously than just normal “play-money” games. Some of the larger freeroll games offer you large cash prizes, gifts, free funds at the casino, and even a free seat in the World Series of Poker!

for info on current & upcoming free rolls, visit free rolls blog.
